doupnik
The other kit I am working on simultaneously is the 48th Reaper. I have the Caracal Models decals and I had been thinking about doing the popular Option 4 with the mission markings, but maybe I'll do one of the others. I had thought about doing the HO bird, but I really like the skull and crossbones of the CH birds. Maybe I'll do a mix and match thing. I'll post pics tomorrow, but this one is coming along quickly too. mason
TomcatFanatic123
Cool! Can't wait to see the pics. I actually was thinking of doing Option 4 with mine as well.
KursadA
I think that would be a very popular option, that is how I built mine. I will post pics in the inspiration builds section as soon as I put the propeller on and apply the final matt coat. Use a lot of weight in the nose, guys - this model is seriously tail-heavy. Thanks for the tip on the nose weights! I always try to double the instructions recommended weight since many kits I put the recommended amount was not enough and had to do surgery to add more..... doupnik
I haven't got to pics yet, but hope to soon. I added weight to the nose, but I am concerned that I didn't add enough, so I will probably add more to the FLIR. I am thinking about doing one of the other CH birds with some of the mission marks from Option 4, just to be a little different. mason
KursadA
If I had one more kit, I would have tried to modify it to a CU-163 Altair, which was an Altair UAV that was leased and tested by the Canadian military. The Altair was basically what the Reaper is based on; so most of the fuselage is identical. Had I known about this variant when I designed the decal sheet, I might have included CU-163 markings. It just looks like a meaner, uglier brother of the Reaper: http://www.casr.ca/bg-uav-cu163altair.htm http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/8246/servergg3.jpg
