The remainder of the wing will be Boeing Grey, bar the leading edges which are natural metal. As for the stabilisers, the leading third will be natural metal, the centre section corruguard and the elevators at the rear will be Boeing Grey. The engines and pylons are all natural metal. Dunelimo
Hi all I have been away from modeling for a while with other commitments though I have still been lurking on the forum, I have started again where I left off, Ive got the early Revell b742 1/144 together with its first coat of white gloss, a few months back I found on e-b the needed decals for the build, looking forward to getting this BA completed (started it 18 months back) and onto other models Mike
Dunelimo
Finally got the top coat on with good weather, I will leave it a couple of days then mask it up and add the blue, then on to the gray wings
Dunelimo
The blue paint is at last onto the fus, I used the Tamia 6mm tap and got a nice clean line, wings and lower belly will be next in gray, then onto the small stuff. Marv
I did the E-4 version of this Revell kit...it's a moldy/oldie, for sure (but still the only game in town for a -200). The engines have a very prominent seam that needed attention, so I used some aluminum tubing to fix this problem. After getting the tubing, I ground out the leading edge of the nacelle so that the tubing would fit inside. I then cut the tubing to correct length, inserted it inside the engine, then used gap-filling superglue on the leading edge to affix the tubing, and blend it into the nacelle. Afther much sanding, and painting, I was rewarded with the following (the tubing was left unpainted, except for a thin portion near the front): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/1003/F111A/DSC01163.jpg Edited July 18, 2013 by Marv
Dunelimo
I have finished off the the main painting of the fus and wing's and added the UC and attached the completed engine's, the leading edges will be next painted silver, then the rear elevators UC doors and antenna's will go on, after that I will start on the decals, this is a nice model to put together
