richter111
I will pick it up to go with my single seater, undersized and all!
Siamese11
That is very good news. I will at least get two of them and hope they will release the single seat one in the future to. Zacto will be very busy with the Mig-29 upgrade kits. Dan
ChernayaAkula
HERE'S it on the Revell website. Apart from some MiG-29UB info, the blurb says "the very detailed kit was enhanced in the engine region and has finely engraved detail. An extensive missile fit and drop tanks make for a well-equipped model of a MiG-29UB."
Dave Williams
HERE'S it on the Revell website. Apart from some MiG-29UB info, the blurb says "the very detailed kit was enhanced in the engine region and has finely engraved detail. An extensive missile fit and drop tanks make for a well-equipped model of a MiG-29UB." I wouldn't get my hopes up that they changed anything from the original release. The UB kit always had a modified lower fuselage with more tapering underside engine tunnels that more closely matched the diameter of the undersized exhausts, to do away with with the nasty stepped transition piece between the fuselage and exhaust nozzle present on the original single-seater release. RoG later used this revised lower fuselage on their later single-seater re-release with the Luftwaffe anniversary markings. It didn't fix the problem as the exhausts are still very undersized so the best that can be said is that it's just slightly less horrible looking than the first kit. As far as the missile fit and tank, they could be referring to the original kit items. The AA-8 and AA-11 missiles are quite poor, while the AA-10 really isn't that bad, although you can't use it on the UB as it didn't have the radar to guide it. Looks like more sales for Zactoman! Hopefully this release will make someone come out with a cockpit for the two-seater. CAM did a set for the single seater, but there never was anything for the family model IIRC. Zactoman
I will be releasing a correction set specifically for the UB. The set will include the same bypass door corrections, stabilizer mounts, engine trunking and exhausts but will not include the parts not needed such as the chaff dispensers and nosecone. The set will also include the newly tooled forward intakes (pictures coming soon in the Zactoforum)!
