FIGHTS ON
No, No, No .......not yet, I still have 2x revell A-6Es in my stash that I need to re-scribe panel lines etc. The wife will never let me buy another A-6....kinetic please wait......
madmanrick
The best news in this announcement is something that was clearly NOT mentioned. Given that Kinetic likes to gain the most from their molds, there will probably be multiple versions of the A-6 produced, hopefully to include an early A-6A, and perhaps even a KA-6D and EA-6A. I would snag at least one of each of these and perhaps 2 or more of the A-6E's. Rick
THX1138
Nice. I was expecting this. I already had a Monogram EA-6B in my stash but replaced that with a Kinetic EA-6B, so I won't have to rescribe and it includes the wingfold. Looks like getting any of the recent re-released Monogram A-6E's is now no longer needed, with this new Kinetic A-6E. I would think it also includes wingfolds. I gave up on waiting for the 1/32 A-6 from Trumpeter....

juanchopancho
Really good news, I want to build some DS A-6Es and some 'Nam A-6s. Never got the Revell kit because I was waiting for this release.
wh1skea
Question is, which will get released first? Kinetic's A-6E or Fightertown's latest A-6E sheet (VA-165/VA-196)?
strikeeagle801
I'm hoping it includes the option of doing a SWIP (composite) winged Intruder as well as the metal wing. It would be nice to have that as an OOB option instead of having to modify the wingfold and pylons. Aaron
PlasticWeapons
I saw over at Z-5 that the Kinetic Intruder looks like it will be a SWIP Intruder.
strikeeagle801
Cool beans. I've got the VA-75 Sunday Punchers from Fightertown, and they are SWIP birds. Speaking of that, I found a SWIP bird (two actually) some-what near my inlaws. One at NAS Whidbey Island, and one at the Seattle Museum of Flight. The one at Whidbey is on a stick, but if you need certain pics, let me know and I'll try to talk to the flight museum and see if I can get around it. Aaron
fulcrum1
Isn't Trumpeter coming out with a 1/48 one too?
madmanrick
Isn't Trumpeter coming out with a 1/48 one too? No, the Trumpy "vaporware" kit was announced as 32nd.
PlasticWeapons
Hobby Boss (Trumpy's 1/48 "division") is supposed to be working on another Intruder in 1/48. Haven't heard of any new stuff about it.
fulcrum1
That's what I read too. The 1/32 plans were shelved for a 1/48 A-6.
Finn
Found this at the Stevens Hobby site, possible box art for the kit: http://www2.stevenshobby.com:5641/si/ViewPicture.asp?productid=434650 hopefully the kit will included the weapons shown, and yes there is one too many Rockeyes but it's just a painting. Aaron Aaron as much as I like the "Sunday Punchers" it's VA-35 bro......one each for SEA action and one for DS1....now we're talking some classic intruders. If I'm feeling frisky I just may do one for VA-34 just to show them some love..I'd better stop or I'll go broke doing Intruders...well maybe not if I can get some of the Revell kits, and really feel chipper enough to fiddle with rescribing. Jari hmm.... that's wingfold for the composite wing. They didn't get those until nearly the end of the career of the Intruder. I hope an aftermarket company puts out the more common wingfold ... hint hint people. :)
