Low level flying at it's best

Recommended Posts

All this was captured in the Welsh low fly system during a single day in October last year.

This had to be the catch of the day. I used to work on the K so I've got a soft spot for these work horses.

Indeed wow. Gorgeous photos. How low is low level flight? Hard to tell zoomed in like that. Any panned out shots for perspective?

This F-15 shots though wow. You can read the pilot's tattoos.

UK armed forces fixed wing flies down to a minimum of 250ft whilst USAFE's hard deck is 500ft. Rotary assets can go down to 50ft.

Love that C-130K, quite the interesting paint job. Any reason for it?

On a semi-related note, do USAF transports practice low level flying like that or is that only a Brit thing?

Great pictures, thanks for posting.

I see USAF or ANG C-130s on the deck where I live all the time. Sometimes at night.

It seems to me that they are no higher than 500ft, if even that.

I'd love to get a pic of one someday, but usually as soon as you hear them, they come over a mountain and are gone behind the next in seconds. Which I guess is the whole purpose of this type of flying.
