GooglyDoogly
Does anyone one know which particular Hasegawa 1/48 F-4 Phantom kit(s) contains the one-piece canopy? I'm looking to build some F-4Es and F-4C/Ds.
Jennings
Don't all of them have it?? I've probably got ten of them rattling around here.
GooglyDoogly
I read somewhere that some of them have them, some of them don't, so I am a little bit gun-shy about purchasing a Hasegawa F-4, because there's just so many of them.
Sunliner
I know that the F-4J (Showtime 100) boxing does. Haven't seen the USAF variants.
ChippyWho
Bit strange: I'm looking at one right now, it can only have been from a G or J version, because they are the only 2 I've got. However, it is not on the parts tree diagram or in the instruction options for either...the plot sickens!

phasephantomphixer
The Pro Modeler F-4E does, but it is a Hard wing version. Not sure on the F-4C/D. Usually a small red strip on box says it. Mike has the answer! Edited August 17, 2011 by phasephantomphixer

Mike has the answer! I think you are right. I would guess that the original "P" series boxes have the multi part canopy only. Everything since has both.
Netz
So really what is the real question? Do you want the one piece, or not? They all come with the segmented canopy's, and the one piece was an option. Were you afraid of getting stuck with a close only option?? Curt
71roadrunner426
I have the hasegawa 1/48 Showtime 100 F-4J and that has a one piece canopy and I also have the 1/48 USS Midway F4-B/N which does not have the one piece canopy. hth, Rob

I bought a couple of Revell's F-4 C/D Phantoms (which I think are just re-boxed Hasegawas) which I'm trying to build with no success, because the segmented canopies on both kits were warped. Looks ok opened, but horrible when I position them in closed position. So now I really want to get some Hasegawa F-4s, but preferably, the kits with the closed one piece canopy. GooglyDoogly
Thanks for the replies guys. I've copy/pasted all those kit lists on my phone so I could keep an eye out for those kits on ebay, my local hobby shop, and the market place here. :D

phantom
DANG!!! Most of my 30 kits do NOT have the one piece. In fact, only 2 of the 30 kits have both canopies.......... Anyone spare a bunch?
Netz
I'm sure if you ask it will rain 1 piece canopy's. So just buy the kit you want and don't worry about the canopy. Curt

I have two of the recent release 1/48 Hasegawa F-4S Phantoms and these came only with the multi part canopies. I wasn't looking to do a major job in the cockpit, just want to concentrate on the externals and colour scheme and just close up the canopy with a one piece, but alas, none was provided. Spectre711
9361, 1976 Bicentennial F-4E only has the open canopy option. 7210 (PT 10), Bicentennial Midway F-4B/N has both canopies. Edited August 19, 2011 by Spectre711
Scooter Man
I just sold off a whole bunch of Hase. 1/48 F-4 kits (no F-4 C/D's though) and all the ones that had the one-piece canopy had a little note on the outside of the box saying "One Piece Canopy Included"
strikeeagle801
My F-4G kit (P4) only has the multi-part canopies in it...So, if someone can spare a one-piece, I'd be eternally greatful. Contact me via PM if you can help. I'd be glad to trade my canopy or something else for it. Aaron
phasephantomphixer
I plan to swap Hase. One piece extras over to fix bogus windscreens on my Mono-Revell stack. Although they are in my occasional F-4G Weasel boxings, the majority will be from the Pro-Modeler F-4E's.
dkobayashi
My PT9 F-4G kit came with one.
