White Wolf
I was initially highly hesitant to put up this for display due to the nature of this paint job, but this is my 4th aircraft model since coming back into the hobby, a F-14D with a scheme inspired by itashas and the Idolmaster jets. It's a tribute to one of my favourite characters from the Japanese video game series Touhou Project. The kit is the 1/72 Revell F-14D Super Tomcat 'Last Flight', decals were a mixture of the box's plus custom-printed ones using decal paper. Everything other than the paint job and custom decals were OOB. Main colors are Tamiya TS-24 Purple and TS-27 Matt White. Panel line wash was done with watercolors. Although I had an enjoyable time building it and picked up a few new things for future builds (drybrushing and polishing canopies, mostly), I'm not fully happy with it since my lack of experience still shows. -Lost two small parts (the little antennas which go onto the side of the forward fuselage) after they flew off my tweezers. -Huge gap between the forward fuselage and main body that, despite my best efforts, is still visible. Need to learn more about gap-filling. -Panel lines are a bit too dark and obvious, I'll try to learn how to use a lighter shade the next time. -I used white decal paper and tried to match the background of the text boxes with the main color but it's still slightly off. You can see the difference in the shades of purple upon closer inspection. They were printed out with a laser printer, I wonder if I should try inkjet paper instead. I'll give myself a 5/10 for this build. Anyway, some photos if you haven't been turned off yet. >_>
Fly-n-hi
I think its cool. Nice job.
jezones
Looks good. I like some of the anima manga themed paint schemes. I've seen some beautiful artwork done on hasagawa f-15's. Don't worry if people won't like your work. Build what you like.
HOLMES
White Wolf. I think it is an EXCELLENT build. The sharp bright blue color scheme is AWESOME. Very NEAT AND FLAWLESS work, and the load out looks IMPRESSIVE...Nice decals work too... I think it is worth far more than you give credit for Sir,at least 20/10 BRAVO. ChippyWho
Holy Cr*p!! You sure nailed it there, Sir! I'm a huge Cat fan and almost as big Manga/Anime fan; for me though, some of the Idolm@ster schemes are over the top. But this may just be the coolest Cat I've ever seen...may even distract me from my beloved black/white 'Jolly Rogers' schemes... Also your quality of build rocks! Przemek
I now, I now, but is not "red warning" I love this aircraft. So, this model is ok, but painting already not. Cheers. ps. I wait for real painting in your execution.
GreyGhost
Well, I like it ... Looks like some of the alternate schemes in the Ace Combat video games ... Nothing wrong with having fun and letting the imagination run wild once in awhile too ... Gregg
White Wolf
I now, I now, but is not "red warning" I love this aircraft. So, this model is ok, but painting already not. Cheers. ps. I wait for real painting in your execution. I'm sorry to have disappointed you. I realize I won't be able to please everyone, but I also won't tell anyone that their model is "wrong". Every modeller has his or her own take on how to do things. I feel what's more important is that he builds for his or her own enjoyment and not to please others. And I had a blast painting it purple instead of grey like almost every other F-14 out there. B) EDIT Well, I like it ... Looks like some of the alternate schemes in the Ace Combat video games ... Nothing wrong with having fun and letting the imagination run wild once in awhile too ... Gregg Thanks for the kind words, Gregg. :) Edited August 23, 2011 by White Wolf
