SBARC
I would like to add a simple security question to the e-mail program I use on the ARC Articles in the gallery section etc. The question would be something like "Is fire hot or cold?" and then the person using the e-mail form would have to enter the word hot in a box to make the e-mail go through. I figure this will block most spam bots. Anyone out there able to edit PHP e-mail forms and add a question that will cut down on the amount of spam? Thanks. You can PM me...reply here or e-mail me at sheb@telus.net
FlyingSnowmew
Another option would be to use reCAPTCHA.
SBARC
Another option would be to use reCAPTCHA. I am open to that option as well provided the images aren't a pain to try to read........some are downright nasty to decipher.

Unfortunately that is a downside, and the audio option is even worse.
SBARC
Ya...that's why I'm leaning towards a simple text question.....it's the least painful option. There's also the option to have a hidden field that is to remain empty and if it is filled iin....then the e-mail doesn't go through. The average user would never see the hidden field so they would leave it empty.....but spam bots tend to fill in all fields....thus they would be stopped from sending the e-mail. ;) But in the end...a simple text question is the cleanest and easiest option.
