ALPH
Here's my MIG-21 from Eduard. Wonderful kit. I've just made some modifications in the front wheel bay, in the exhaust nozzle, and in the cockpit. Edited October 2, 2011 by ALPH

eharrold44
Great start! The added details should look really nice, and I love the attention to detail on the stick. Can't wait to see it finished.
Sebastijan
beautiful work so far! How did you achieve the weahtered NMF look? By preshading or using different tones of metallic colours?
ALPH
By preshading or using different tones of metallic colours? none of these technic. Base coat revell acrylic silver, oil wash, and rub n' buff "silver leaf" that's all.

Jon Fitzgerald
Very nice work, I'm with Pep, would be nice to have some feedback on the finish. :)
ALPH
hi, here's my technic first step Revell acryl coat "silver" applied with an airbrush second step oil whash black in all the panel and rivets lines. Some panels are completely covered with the wash to have a darker tone. I wipe without thinner with a soft cloth, to keep the dark tone. Final step is applying the rub n buff wax with diffrerents methods to have the "paneling effect". If you put a light coat of rub n buff the tone is dark, if you put more, the tone is lighter. Each panel is covered with the wax by different ways. If the wax is buffered with a finger, you can have a very shiny finish like chrome, if it buffered with a soft brush the final result will be more satin, if it is not buffered at all you have a matt result. PS : sorry for my "google" english Edited October 4, 2011 by ALPH

eharrold44
Thank you for posting. The look of your finish is really superb. The various weathering techniques really give it some scale-appropriate depth. Great work!
