Flyboyf18
I got 2 things to add to this; R/H drive imports??? WUWT? You trained on a L/H drive and up until you got the import you drove a L/H drive! Are you able to instantly turn on the instinct to look the proper ways 'cause you are sitting on the other side of the car!??!?? The accessory connected to this; I worked for a bit at an Auto Auction selling accidented cars. I was processing one of these imports and when I opened the trunk I FOTGLMAO!! There was a huge bag of..........c'mon take a guess...................................rice in there, ? a spare fuel can????? Saw a car at an import show, an Escort wagon, huge stereo in the back, tastefully done well laid out, me, a Mustang guy, was impressed! Walked around the car, interior looked good, BUT, got to the engine, hood open (first mistake) and it was filthy, and (second mistake) no mods whatever!?
MaxHeadroom
Its not just the Rice Rockets, there's also the Hillbilly Semi's/ I own a 3/4 ton Dodge Diesel truck, which I need because My wife and I own horses, need to haul them eith a trailer, etc. The latest fad, besides the lift kits and oversiz tires is to add dual exhaust stacks with 6 inch pipes, and NO muffler, which on a diesel sounds the same at idle and light load until you floor it. Kalashnikov-47
There's a kid (I hope no adult would do this...) that lives a block north of me who has an older Ford Mustang, most likely with a V-6 engine, who removed the muffler. I guess it sounds totally cool to him, because whenever he leaves his place headed in my direction, he always feels the need to floor it right in front of my house. It doesn't sound like a tough car at all, more like a cow fart - - a VERY LOUD cow fart..... I have to listen to this moron several times a day. Ben Brown
I guess its an extension of rice, but the newer "stance" craze is pretty stupid. It's where they go for about 20 degrees negative camber, and put the narrowest tires they can fit on the widest rims they can find. Fart can muffler on a car with an automatic. They're just telling the world that they don't know how to drive a stick. I could go on and on and on!
Litvyak
I agree on the RH drive imports - with a qualification. I can understand bringing in something that is totally unavailable here and has some nifty factor - say a Nissan Skyline, or say some old 1950s Toyota. But then don't use it as your daily driver. Use it on a sunny Sunday. What bugs me is all the Mitsubishi Delica minivans - there are a LOT of them around here suddenly. As if we didn't have minivans available here! But... there aren't any that look like that, so maybe I could be convinced to overlook that... but: a Civic!? A plain old run of the mill CIVIC? REALLY? I truly hope that their insurance rates have a MASSIVE surcharge on them for RHD cars in a LHD environment (or vice versa). It is, plain and simple, not safe.
Two Mikes
THIS!! Who in their right mind thinks that this look is cool?
Wolfgun33
I agree with all of these!! Nuff said!! Oh and the idiot in my neighbourhood that has the stupid Dukes of Hazard horn. Knock it off already. Edited October 7, 2011 by Wolfgun33
C-130CrewChief
People who drive Hybrids and have to advertise how awesome they are for driving it by adding a sticker or a license plate frame stating how awesome and BETTER they are! I was behind a Prius with a license plate frame that said "My car starves terrorists how about yours?" I couldn't pass this guy for about 10 aggravating miles. I just about rammed him several times! I was in uniform and was able to write a message on a not book. It said "I don't starve terrorists, I kill them." I held it up as I passed and the guy didn't even know why I showed it to him. That made me even more angry... I'm so tired of seeing "Obama/Biden 08" bumper stickers! Curt
C-130CrewChief
Dump valves do sound cool sometimes though . . . And they actually have a use, unlike most modifications. Yup. Unless they are fake! I think people who do these things mentioned above should have their judgment questioned. I'm all about custom cars, but please don't do something unsafe like put 30" wheels on a 1990 Buick that needs to have the suspension seriously modded then drive it on the freeway at 80 MPH! People who do this are guilty of recklessness and should be walking. I have a very loud stereo in my POS car, but I never play it loud in residential areas. My stereo is worth more than the car, but it makes my commute enjoyable so it's worth it. The fact that it's a cheep car also deters theft! I also have NO car payment! Your hybrid ain't so green if you get your power from a coal, gas, oil fired electric plant ok? Your emissions are just happening oh 100 miles or more away. On top of that the lack of greenness in the manufacturing of all that goes in your hybrid such as the batteries may disappoint you. As to your political stickers on bumpers I'm sure you do feel the same way about those "McCain/Palin 08" ones too... After all it's only fair. "Jesus is Lord" ones get me too. Go worship whatever god you want but I could not care any more less as to your advertizing your faith on your car. Maybe we need "Flying Spaghetti Monster" bumper stickers then too. B-17 guy
Tinted black windows, who do you think you are? The Mafia? No. I think I'm a disabled vet who has window tint because I get really bad headaches from driving around on bright sunny days and my window tint helps to prevent that. Two Mikes
Oooohhhhhh I hate the memorial stickers on the back of peoples car windows. I understand you feel bad about the loss of a family member or friend but frankly, I don't need to read about it. I know, I am a jerk but In Memory of so and so has NO meaning on the back window of a strangers car.
Two Mikes
No. I think I'm a disabled vet who has window tint because I get really bad headaches from driving around on bright sunny days and my window tint helps to prevent that. My car has very dark tinted windows as the temps here get to 120 farenheit during summer and I would rather not sit on super heated seats. Window tint is a necessity for several people, for several reasons.
GreyGhost
Fake bullet hole stickers. Some of those weren't stickers where I grew up ... Gregg
Raceaddict
PT Cruisers - The entire car is like one bad bolt-on. Stick figures - dunno' who started this, but a stick figure family tree on the back window of minivans and SUVs is among the lamest things ever. A week or two back I saw just a couple on the back of an X3... no kiddie stick figure, no doggie/kitty stick figure. It was kinda' sad.
B-1 Nut
I can't stand for people to put "Mustang" on the windshield or back glass their mustang....or "Camaro", "Z-71", etc. It is almost like cannot remember what they drive or they thing you're too dumb to know what kind of car it is. My favorites are the guys who have "Cobra" on their front glass, a gigantic cobra emblem on the back glass, and a license plate that says "03Crbra". Hilarious to me.....but to each his own. If it makes them happy.

Sunliner
I third (or fourth) on the vinyl memorial stickers. I already told my family they better not put "I luv u daddy 1968-xxxx) on their car when I croak, or I'll haunt the crap out of them. -Mike

Window tint is a necessity for several people, for several reasons. That's not normally a problem in the UK ;) Usually it's either kids with modified cars, or Mum's in their 4x4s or people carriers. Obviously if it's for medical reasons then that's understandable, but it usually isn't ;) Luckily the Police like to fine people for having black tinted front windows over here. BAM'n'IVM
Fake stick-on "exhaust vents" on the front fenders. Extra points if they're applied crooked and mis-aligned. Here's a link to a pic with ANOTHER pet peeve - cheap stick-on graphics from the auto parts store. http://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/files/2/0/1/5/Picture003.jpg Yeah, pal, you look tough...
