Looking for Ford Flathead V-8's

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I've just recently gotten back into car models but they are mostly the older '40s and '50s. I have a couple projects that I'm in need of a good Ford Flathead V-8. Kit engine either stinks (Lindberg '40 Ford) or is missing from my kit (AMT '49 Ford). If anyone has any in their parts bins and they aren't planning on using them, I'd be willing to purchase from you for a reasonable price. Please let me know.

Anyone? I'm willing to pay for parts and shipping....

There was a pickup that had the flatty and other good parts for then like the wheels n hubcaps etc. I I recall right it was a blue, cannot recall what truck tho, want to say it was a F1. Not sure of the scale.

Edit: Fast search looks like revell made another boxing of it, in 2n1 form.

If its the right scale and now one comes up with the stuff for yah, least there is another option.

Revell took out the stock heads and put in Ardun heads for the reissues of that kit. The one with a blue F-1 on the box has the stock heads, the re-issues with the tan truck and the current re-issue with a yellow truck, have the Ardun heads. The Ardun heads were re-tooled for the current version and are more accurate than the older re-issue.

There are a ton of flatheads in old Ford kits, but I always build them with the stock flathead so have none to spare.

Model Cars Magazine has a trade section and a wanted section. No open selling, but what happens behind the PMs who knows... :ninja:

Your best bet are the custom and hotrod guys who will use the optional non stock motors and have a parts box full of flatheads.

Also Kitchen Table Resin offers a Ford flat head 6. That motor is too late for the 40, (used 41-51) but was available in the 49 Ford.

They are kind of expensive ($18) but I have a few of his motors and they are nicely done.
