dagger00
Hello: I´d like to know wich P-51H kit in 1/48 is the best, the MPM one or Classic Ariframes one?. Have they vacuformed canopies or plastic ones?. Best, Juan
MikeC
I don't know about either of those you mentioned; I've built the Historic Plastic Models (HiPM) and whilst some say the wings have too narrow a chord it seems OK to me. Not an easy kit, but with a bit of work it scrubbed up well. The kit decals give 4 options (2 56th FG, 2 ANG) but the US national markings are proportionally incorrect - easily replaceable. The kit includes some resin and a small etch fret iirc, and has a thick but usable injection moulded canopy, in fact two, one open and one shut. One of the better limited run kits I've experienced. dagger00
Hello Mike, thanks you a lot for the replay, in fact you´re right, I made a mistake, I meant to say HiPM, not MPM, so I´ll ty to pick one of them if I see the oportunity. Best, Juan
tourist
Classic Airframes has the better shape. Beyond that both have some good and bad details and will require extra work.
ThePhantomTwo
You might want to kit bash using both kits, taking the best of both and using everything on the CA kit.Beware, the insturment panel in the the CA kit is of a P-51D and not the correct H panel.
