prophet
I need some help finding the right colours for the seat cushions and belts of F-14A seats (having tried various and failed so far). Some footage I found shows that cushions to be dark green, though all models I have seen here use some kind of brown/khaki. (e.g. here: http://www.hyperscale.com/features/2001/images/F-14_CP2-07.jpg). So which colours would you use for seat cushions and belts? Thanks.
PlasticWeapons
Either color would be fine. The cushions fade to lighter colors over time. The parachute container as well as the survival kit is an olive green plastic. Edited November 1, 2011 by PlasticWeapons
thegoodsgt
I agree with PW. I mix up a random shade of greenish brown (or brownish green) for each ejection seat that I prepare. There really is a lot of variation, so you can't go wrong.
prophet
Any what about the belts?
PlasticWeapons
Dirty light gray. Silvery light gray as described in previous threads but I don't bother trying to replicate the sheen of the belts. I add a touch of neutral gray or light ghost gray to the light gray when I paint my seat belts. Edited November 1, 2011 by PlasticWeapons
Darren Roberts
I've always painted the area underneath the cushion chromate green. It seems a good match.
