stebi51
Thanks all! I've made the prop too, starting from plywood. This is composed by 3 overlays in each strip. Than I've stuck 6 strips of plywood, total 18 overlays. This is the final result. Bye to the next step

This is the work at the moment: the wip of the wing some particular the seat in the fuselage (not fixed) and on my finger. The seat is made of wood and leather, with legs in brass Thanks all for the attention, to the next time! :) Edited November 30, 2011 by stebi51
dixieflyer
Stefano, What type of wood are you using for the wing spars, ribs, etc.? What type for the fuselage framing? Seat? Thanks, and again: beautiful work! Warren
stebi51
Stefano, What type of wood are you using for the wing spars, ribs, etc.? What type for the fuselage framing? Seat? Thanks, and again: beautiful work! Warren Dear Warren, for this model I'm using almost exclusively a special byrch plywood, made of 3 layers and 3/10mm thick. All fuselage is made of it and the prop too. It's easy to work, very resistant, more than common wood and you can cut it by a simple cutter or even scissors . In some other situation, for exampre in wing's spars, I've used also boxwood or walnut strip 1x1mm. If you're interested about this playwood, you can order it to Mantuamodel HERE. Bye and thanks for your attention, Stefano. :) Edited November 30, 2011 by stebi51

Aaronw
Wow. Are you going to put a skin on it or leave it as an open frame work? It seems a shame to cover up all those details.
stebi51
Wow. Are you going to put a skin on it or leave it as an open frame work? tnuag
A beautiful model. Why don't you cover one side and leave the other side uncovered? I would say that this is traditional modelling at its best. Neil
stebi51
You say this is the last model you made. Do you have pictures of the other ones ? Man, I wish I had your skill I made other models, many years ago some planes, but this are not in good conditions... Victory 1/100, the only one survived from '70 WWI Skoda howitzer 149/13 in 1/16 scale WWII German antitank PAK40, 1/16 italian tankette CV35, 1/72 '800's English cart , 1/16 I'm also a staff member of the italian modelling site www.modellismopiu.it.
