BubbaGump
New to the forum here but LOVE checking in on everyone's builds. Really learned a lot and get inspired by everyone's work. I'm about to take on the 1/32 Revell Tornado kit and I'm planning on upgrading with the Aires pit, SAC landing gear, and would like to use the Paragon flap set. But I can't seem to find the Paragon or Flightpath stuff anywhere. What I have found is in the UK and out of stock. Does anyone know where this elusive set can be purchased in the US? Any help is greatly appreciated. ScottD
geedubelyer
Hey Scott, Welcome aboard. Glad you're enjoying things. You'll have a search on for the Paragon bits. Neil has closed down so the parts are now OOP. I wonder if you'd get any by watching EvilBay? God luck . Cheers. Edited November 14, 2011 by geedubelyer
Dave Williams
CAM also made some flap sets.
BubbaGump
Thanks for the responses. E-Bay yielded nothing but I will check into the CAM stuff. Believe I have some serious searching to do if I want that stuff but the help is much appreciated.
j-basset
I saw one set at the local hobby shop a few weeks back. Will check again and revert. Bear in mind though, that I'm writing from Malaysia.
viper494
Hi Scott welcome to the forum I wish you all the luck in the world , like Guy say's Neil has been shut down now for some time and a stockist near to where i used to live had plenty of the Tornado resins aswell as the Jaguar and Buccaneer resins in stock but when Paragon Designs shut down they sold out very quickly of everything and now have nothing in stock even Hannants both the London store and the main hub have completley sold out . So i think your wait maybe long and expensive unless youe extremily lucky . I hope you find what your looking for and enjoy your time here. Clive
BubbaGump
Thank you all very much for the input. I'm probably S.O.L. on the flaps but I'm still jacked about this kit, the "Tonka" is a cool looking aircraft with flaps down or up. Still debating a paint scheme based on what decal sets I can find, those seem to be scarce too. J-Basset - Malaysia is a bit of a haul from South Carolina for a set of flaps but I'm due a nice road trip... Never posted pics of my builds so maybe I'll figure that out and gladly take any pointers. Should be delivered by end of week and of course the Aires pit will be my first target. Thanks again folks and truly enjoy seeing everyone's work!
spike7451
Flightpath do a good RAF update set for the Tornado,Used them before myself. We recently had a Tornado group build on Britmodeller earlier this year HERE & if you need any references, you can find oodles of photo's HERE. If you have any questions, feel free to ask,I spent a few years on RAF Tornado's stationed at RAF Bruggen in Germany. Merv My GB entry;
BubbaGump
Thanks for those links. Excellent reference stuff. Going with a Desert Storm scheme I believe and I'm sure I'll need some technical assists. I just got the kit and cockpit, the FP decal set from Hannants is coming (even with shipping they were cheaper than here in US). That Aires set is SWEET, amazing detail, but I see what people mean about the packaging. Lots of smaller pieces just flyin' around in a bag. Hopefully pics up once I can start working on her. Take care Scott
