Just finished my third ever kit, an Academy 1/72 South Korean KF-16C. It has tons of flaws, which is why it's not going in Critique Corner

First time using my airbrush.

First time using a wash.

First time attempting to paint NAV lights.

First time making a display base.

First time my decals didn't silver!

Although the wash looks a little overdone to me, and I had some slip ups while cutting the mask. And I completely forgot to paint the in-flight refueling thingy. Oh well, live and learn.

Thanks guys. I guess I had a healthy dose of beginner's luck. I wish I could have gotten the wash a little cleaner--the entire aircraft looks like it's coated in a burnt umber dust. I also learned why seamless intakes are so popular :woot.gif:

I actually didn't do a wash on the landing gear bays--I just did a few light coats of white and let the gray of the plastic show through for kind of a pre-shading effect. Hopefully on my next build I can try pre-shading.
