OH NO!!! Canopy just CRACKED

Recommended Posts

:crying2::explode: I was in the process of polishing the canopy for the F-16F model that I am building. While taking out the putty from the inside of the canopy while I polished it the canopy cracked. :crying2::explode::angry: I have never run into this before. Dumb mistake on my part! Is there a repair for such a thing or does someone make an after market canopy that will work. I am going to hold off on doing any model work on this model until the canopy issue is resolved. Is there anything I can do? I am in a panic! I WAS looking forward to the finished product of this model. BTW...It is a Kinetic F-16F Desert Falcon Block 60

THANKS

Have you tried emailing customer service at Kinetic and asking for a replacement part? Or you might have to contact the distributor of Kinetic to get the part.

I'd try that first.

I have emailed Kinetic a couple weeks ago about 2 flap halves missing and have not heard back yet. Is Kinetic Chinese? Is the language difference an issue? I emailed Kinetic again including the canopy now. I can not remember where I got it...or when.

Another NOTE: I dip all my clear parts in Future. Will that help the crack or make it better?

When a crack forms, theres no way to cover it up. You can probably chemically melt it with MEK, but that should be a last resort.

go to luckymodel.com

open an account if you don't have one already.

When you do that, choose My Request option in the top menu and choose parts replacement from a dropdown menu and fill in all the required fields.

I used their service twice and was more than happy with it.

I cracked a Hornet canopy a few weeks ago. I have already received a replacement part from Academy. I tried everything to fix the crack including the future dip... nothing will repair this issue imo. Just contact Kinetic, am sure they will replace the part for you.
