Trash
This is my first entry into the ARC Festival of Speed Group Build. I started in in 2009 and got as far as the pictures her show. It will be the Tamiya Porsche 911 GT1 in test form covered in carbon fiber decals. I have cut the front bonnet off and cut out the hood. I cut the front wheel well off Next comes the rebuilding of the front enclosure and filling any holes which can be seen Test fitting the front air intake and front portion of the brake duct intakes Brake ducts constructed out of 3 pieces of styrene each Here is the radiator shroud finished except for CF decals Here is the scratch built trunk fire wall, not sure if that is the correct name or not. This is the fuel tank scratch built it will also have cf decals on it Here are a couple of views of everything in place Edited August 18, 2012 by Trash

Trash
Thanks guys, I hope to start work on this again after XMas. Got to finish up a 1950 Chev Pickup as a gift
Grenadier37
I'm really looking forward to seeing your finished model. It looks like a winner so far. I was in Stuttgart a while back and visited the Porsche museum. Of course the GT1 street and race cars are there and every bit as sexy as you'd expect them to be. 2qwik4u
I like the use of the chocolate bar foil. Looks good! I'm assuming that you are going to do the full CF decals on the outside? I think I remember seeing an old article in Scale Auto or Car Modeler where they did the same thing. If you don't have it, I might be able to dig it out for you. Let me know. -Dave
Trash
Sure if you can find it let me know I will PM you my email Thanks
2qwik4u
Any progress on this guy? Anxious to see all the CF work! By the way, I'm still trying to find that magazine article. I did find one from SAE June 1998 that has a few pit photos in it of the white Mobil 1 car. -Dave
Trash
Sorry only a little progress, nothing worth posting. Trying to finish up some previously started builds before setting at this one again.
Trash
Well finally I am back at this kit Here is the fuel cell with carbon fibre decals and photo etch Porsche emblem and phillips screws Fuel tank in place Next we have a shot of the radiator shroud, CF'd and in place with the photo etch radiator grill Next I started working on the shock towers, the kit was not detailed enough for this build, so I first cut out the existing connection point, then I rebuilt the shock towers, each took close to an hour to build, due to the small size. The little white balls will be the new top of the shocks, I found them at a local craft store, basically necklace beads that will be painted black. Oh ignore the date on the pictures, the camera batteries were changed and I forgot to reset the date. Edited August 18, 2012 by Trash

Charlie Cheetah
You have a heck of a lot more patience than I have Paul! Nice scratch building.
2qwik4u
You still build here? When the mood strikes.
Trash
Exactly when the mood strikes I went through a period of not wanting to work on the kit, so kept putting it away and working or trying to work on another kit Eventually I finished a Ju88 in Winter Camo, a Panzer, and a Lambo Miura. Worked on a Porsche Carrera GT, still have to repaint the body on this one
