Joe,

Phenomenal job! I made an account on here after Googling "IVMMD Husky Plastic Model." I'm in a route clearance unit in Afghanistan and after finding a couple of MRAP models and showing them to one of our Husky operators, he asked if there were any Husky models. We are very impressed. If you would like to know anything about the Huskies then feel free to ask, but that thing is spot on! My only bit of advice is that a combat engineer will ridicule you mercilessly for calling the metal detection panels (PI Panels) X-Ray panels. We were on a mission and the infantry radioed up to their higher about our GPR panels being down and they referred to them as "scanners" so now we call the Husky the "X-Ray Machine" or the "Xerox Machine" when we're mocking them. I'm a recovery specialist/mechanic and have worked on these things and recovered them (in pieces) in Iraq and here in Afghanistan, so like I said, if you want to know anything about them I'd love to share.

Here is a picture of me recovering a blown up Husky in Iraq (I'm the guy on the truck):

Good luck and God bless you, as you do the job.

Thanks and yes I've seen them. Brent emailed them to me last week. However thats and older Husky with the rounded fenders. I need to get back to work on it, set it aside to work on an M-ATV and HET. I'm hoping to have all three finished in 50 days...yes 50 days to the AMPS show in Auburn, Indiana.

Thanks for looking out.

Happy Modeling,

Joe

Just found this thread, and read through it this morning- incredible work! I admire your approach to scratch building, and the encouragement to "just do it".

Thank you for sharing your work with us!

I was wondering if the cab interior came out, as you first stated, an educated guess or did you ever get some specific data?

Regardless it is an awesome build of an unusual vehicle.

It’s been sometime since my last posting on the Husky, I had to finish up some other projects. Anyhow I’m back at it and it’s around 90% done. I’m now working on putting on bar armor around it. For the reference of the armor I dvr’d Bomb Patrol Afghanistan showing some of the sides.

This is the start of the GPR panels, ground penetrating panels. Upper frame and bumper work.

I will have this (have too be) for the AMPS convention, I’ll be on the road Thursday morning.

I was able to get on the bar armor tonight, I need just to add some touch up here and there. I will say looking at the many reference and the T.V show no two HUSKY’S are alike.

There are some that have bar armor across the front windshield… I’m thinking of adding some tomorrow and then calling this one finished.
