Stefan buysse
Hi, Three weeks to go and I'm just starting this topic, I wonder how fast I can build a Mustang. Here's what I'll be using: Cheers, Stefan.
Prop Duster
Why, it's just a pile of plastic parts! ya jus' can't build a classic iconic P-51 in so short a time!! Pay no attention to gran pa, Stefan, I believe you can build it and will make it a winner in the process
Stefan buysse
Hi, Thanks, Steve. That made me smile. It's a good thing that gran pa wasn't here when I opened my bottle of Interior Green...there was just a dried-up crust on the bottom. I bought a new one today. I also sprayed some gray primer on some parts. Seriously, I don't think I'll ever build a contest winner. With the 356th's markings, I ought to achieve something that's pleasing to look at, though. Cheers, Stefan.
HOLMES
Stefan I am sure as Gran pa says IT will be just GREAT ..I am looking froward to this one very much
Stefan buysse
Thanks, Holmes. The project survived a scary moment today: I put too much tension on the airbrush head as I screwed it into the airbrush body. Luckily, I had a spare airbrush head and the broken-off bit that was stuck in the body came out relatively easily. The Interior Green has been sprayed on now and maybe I'll have done the cockpit in a few days. Cheers, Stefan.
ThunderGrunt
Stefan Any updates to your build?? I have a 356th A/C as well Regards Eugene
Stefan buysse
Hello, Eugene. Thanks for the wake-up call. ;) At the very end of December, finishing the B-17F took over as a priority. With the extension of the P-51 GB, the pressure was off and I mostly worked on the M-60A3 and the F-111F. On the P-51K, I have painted the instrument panel and most of the interior. I'll have to check how the white of the instruments is doing, maybe a second coat will be required as it seemed to fade a bit in the days after application. Then I might get to construct the airframe over the week-end. Cheers, Stefan.
