Hi guys,

After the MiG-23PD (art.7208), Art Model is apparently planning

Mikoyan-Gurevich Ye-8 experimental fighter

Producator: ART model

Cod produs: ART.7209

Scara: 1:72

Stoc: in curand

...and also

MiG-23UB training aircraft

Producator: ART model

Cod produs: ART.7210

Scara: 1:72

Stoc: in curand

...at least according to this local retailer: Parcmodels.ro

:woot.gif:

They sometimes have this or that insider info.

Isn't the YE-8, what they used to call "a poor rendition of an F-16Ski? Just like they used to call the tu-144 the Concordski.

Except that the Ye-8 (Ye being an English transliteration of the Russian letter "E") flew in 1962, twelve years before the first YF-16 flight.

Tu-144 is a whole different matter.

Why do you continue to shoot yourself in the foot? After a while it has to hurt, no?

  • 2 months later...

Anybody seen actual photos of the kit itself? I'm not familiar with Art Models. Is their other stuff any good?

I'm assuming this is 1/72, right?

My first post here, so hello everybody :)

Airmodel made a neat little vac kit many years ago, with resin detail parts. I wouldn't mind a 1/32 kit, but not expensive & overly detailed with resin & PE junk.

Wasn't it made in ridiculous low number? Something like 20. Or maybe i am confusing with some other kit.

Hmm... I think I'll be waiting for a 1/48 kit someday. That 1/72 kit looks like KP moldings from the 1970s.

I doubt you'll see a 1/48 injected plastic Ye-8/2 kit before the Big Crunch or the Big Freeze. I don't see any commonality between the ART kit and a KP kit: better level of detail, recessed panel lines, little or no flash.
