NavyAndrew
Hi F4D - There is a pic of the nose on p.107 of B-26 Invader units Over Korea in which you can barely make out the panel line behind the guns on the 8 gun nose. This line is different on the 6 gun nose, so I would go with the 8 gun nose. The caption states Versatile Lady was widely photographed, but the only other pic I could find is tenuous at best. On p.30 of the same book is red A at Iwakuni, but unfortunately the nose is cropped out and the wing hides the radio call number. The crew name block and some stenciling behind it look exactly the same as Versatile Lady. This pic shows a top turret. It also shows red wing, vertical stabilizer and horizontal stabilizer tips and bare aluminum prop hubs. Hopefully somebody else will find a better pic for you. bugs3144
best pic I can find shows Versatile Lady with 8 nose guns. Great shot of nose art. Check 13thbombsquadron.org/noseart2. Frank ATL
A-4Silverfox
I'd delete the guns from the turret as the observer was rarely carried and the turret was useless trying to track a jet. The lower turret was removed on most of the -26's before Korea occured.
