Wayne S
Very nice piece Have you built a lot of kits like that Vin?
vince14
I'm starting to get more into cars than aircraft - primarily because I think I can paint them better than I can aircraft. There should be more to come from me. Vince
2qwik4u
That's beautiful. What is the color?
Wayne S
I'm starting to get more into cars than aircraft - primarily because I think I can paint them better than I can aircraft. There should be more to come from me. Vince What I meant was a mutli media kit like the Ferrari. I took a glimpse at the kit you built, looks like it could be an overwhelming build. Specially with the thought of something happening to a part. It is not like one can go to the hobby store and buy a fast replacement from a 10-20$ kit. Few "A Lot" of the parts look like they take some heavy meditation before even breathing close to them LOL. More or less wondering how many times you have built kits so extensive as that one. vince14
That's beautiful. What is the color? It's Williams FW24 Blue from Hiroboy's Zero Paints range. It's well worth checking out their range of colour-matched paints. Vince

More or less wondering how many times you have built kits so extensive as that one. In all honesty, it's only the third multi-media car kit I've built. The first was a 1/24 Lotus 101 I built years ago, and the second was a Super Aguri F1 car I built last year. They're really not as scary as they look, you just have to take your time (this one took me about 4 months on and off) and do a lot of dry-fitting. Thankfully I've not yet lost a part that's too critical to the build, and I keep all the parts in Zip-Loc bags until I need them. Plus, the good thing about car models is if you get the painting down correctly it will hide a multitude of sins! Vince
vince14
Also, I'm keen to build another one of these and really go to town on the detailing. Sadly, they're as rare as hen's teeth nowadays. If any of you guys 'Over the Pond' know of anywhere selling one, let me know! Vince
2qwik4u
I've been wanting to try out the Zero Paints line. What did you use as a clear coat? Do you have to use their's or can you use another manufacturers clear?
vince14
I used their own brand of clearcoat, but only because I was buying a load of paint from them and figured it made sense to buy them all together. The paints are very nice, easy to airbrush and quick to dry. The instructions state that they've tested their paints with Tamiya TS13, Halfords lacquer and the Mr. Hobby range. As ever, I'd test different combinations on a 'Hanger Queen' before committing though. Vince
vince14
Steve's now posted the article onto the main ARC Auto site. As we don't have a 'Today's Birds' section in auto's, please feel free to identify all the myriad faults here! Vince
2qwik4u
Yeah, the only fault I see here is that it's not sitting on MY shelf. Just beautiful. I just got some of that Zero Paint the other day for my SimilR Ford GT. We'll have to see how that goes.. -Dave
Bigasshammm
Faults? HA That thing is awesome. It's a shame it's not more readily available.
