phantom
Here is where you post your finished builds. Three to five photos should do the trick.
phantom
I figured I should try to be the first done. Went real simple. 1/48 Hasegawa F-4N with Vagabond decals. NICE decals. Oh, and Superscale walkways. Edited January 4, 2012 by phantom
MHaz
I figured I should try to be the first done. Went real simple. 1/48 Hasegawa F-4N with Vagabond decals. NICE decals. Oh, and Superscale walkways. WOW! Congrats on being the first one to finish and in style. It's a real thrill to see our decals in use, and done so well!
phantom
That decals from ONE of our sponsors. Remember we have Caracal, Hi Decals,Impact decals, Two Bobs and Vagabond!!!!! You sure do not have to USE their decals for this GB but it would be a great idea to check out their sites and buy a sheet or 4. Edited January 25, 2012 by phantom new sponsors!!!!!!!! phantom
Another (almost) OOB. Hasegawa F-4N with Impact decals and two small pieces of brass to hold the folded wings in place.

Johnopfor
Alright, here is my first one, I had to use the 1/72 Italeri kit due to an "industrial accident" that occured with the Airfix kit, but I did use the Airfix decals. Otherwise, the kit is OOB...... BAe Hawk Mk.1A 100 Sqn., REF Leeming, 2009........
Johnopfor
OK, my second finished build....... F9F-2 Panther, VF-61 USS Franklin D Roosevelt, Mid-1950......... I used the Hasegawa 1/72 scale kit with resin cast control panel and side panels from the HobbyBoss kit, and Obscureco ejection seat The markings are a mix of kit decals, markings from the spares box, ScaleMaster numbers and the flags from the Academy F4U-1 Corsair kit There are very few pictures of VF-61 Panthers in NMF, the most notable was Lt. Cable's C 203, but I did run into another picture of VF-61 Panthers on FDR with several in NFM including C 213, but before the airwing codes were painted on (C 213 and several of the others did have the JR insignia painted under the canopy.) Using the other pictures of VF-61 Panthers, including Cable's aircraft and some profiles, I came up with C 213.

This is my 150th completed Phantom Hasegawa 1/48 F-4E using Caracal soon to be released Terminator 2020 decals. xmh53wrench
Thanks again Phantom for the GB, and congrats on all your F-4s. Amazing F-16 DMT! Well just finished. This was a "what if" the Army Air Corps. got a hold of some Spits early on, and converted them to night fighters, to strafe air fields and anti aircraft gun sites under the cover of darkness. I used the Ghost Town GB criteria as inspiration for making my own nose art and some of the markings. The rest of the decals were from the stash. Paint is MM flat black and airbrushed olive drab, that has been tinted darker with black. I took a bit more creative license with the armament, as well as with the belly tank and figured maybe some sort of early aircraft/target intercept radar pod just to the left of the belly tank. I had a blast with this build. Edited April 15, 2012 by xmh53wrench
pkrasna
My contribution to this GB: Hasegawa P-47D 1/72 scale flown by Major G.T.Eaglestone 354FG, 353FS, 9AF Primož
RAIN
Here is my entry for the GB. It’s a 1/48 Hasegawa F-4J with Double Ugly decals (sorry, I had them before the sponsors were announced as this was planned ahead). Since we are to only have between 3-5 pictures here I have more pictures in the display case forum at http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=249044 for those interested. phantom
Hey, here is something different......... I built a Phantom!!! Here is F-4 # 151. A F-4J OF VMFA-235 Death Angles with an air to ground load. Really old Super Scale decals and a Cockpit which has some interesting fit issues. Not sure what company it was, seats are great but I would think most pilots would prefer to be able to see out the front window. Two Mikes drop in intake covers finished it off nice. phantom
Here is my last one for this GB, ANOTHER PHANTOM!!!! VF-101 Grim Reapers, how ghostly is that? This one is VF-101 DET-66 on a CVW-8 cruise on CV-66 back in the early 70s. It was the only time the fighter coverage for a cruise was half covered by a training squadron. The other squadron was Marine VMFA-333.

Used the 1/48 Hasegawa kit and really enjoyed the build. Hmmm....wonder if I can get that Tomcat done in a week? Thanks for watching, Denis Edited June 22, 2012 by EX_Birdgunner

Bigasshammm
Finished! Not perfect by any means but I think it looks good on the shelf. I achieved the look I wanted but not the result. Oh well. Specifics: F-16C 87-0222 2005 OH ANG "Gravedigger" Hasegawa F-16CJ kit, TwoBobs decals (several sheets), Aires wheel bays, Steel Beach covers set, Steel beach intake and exhaust covers, Eduard RBF pe tags, Scratched strengthening plates and dual chaff launcher on bottom. I may add some weapons to it eventually but for now I'm leaving it as is. I'll put all the pics in my thread. K
Pete
Finished! And I'm sure it's still the 30th somewhere, right? Italeri A-6E Intruder, Wolfpak decals for VA-34 "The Blue Blasters", somewhere around 1977 or so. Not sure if I will build something in 2 weeks again, but it was fun...
MHaz
Wow! The Blue Blasters Intruder looks great! Glad I've got 5 1/2 hours to finish the decals on my AC-130A. Cross your fingers that the old Microscale sheet doesn't shatter in the water. It's got a couple coats of liquid decal film on it, but you never know...
phantom
Couple hours left, some more great finishes here!!!!!!!
