Origin of kits in Revell's "Marine Attack Squadron"

Recommended Posts

I got the Revell "Marine Attack Squadron" as a Christmas gift, and am wondering about the origin of the three kits in the set.

It has an F-8E Crusader, and A-6E Intruder, and an A-4E Skyhawk.

The A-6E looks to be a rescribed Hasegawa kit (I just picked up one of their A-6E boxings from 2008, and it has raised panel lines).

But I'm not sure where the F-8 and A-4 come from.

Nothing important, just sheer curiosity!

Thanks,

Mike

If I'm not mistaken, all three models originated from Ace - a Korean brand, and are based on the Hasegawa kits.

A long time back, one of my buds bought the A-6E kit separately, and I bought the A-7D which was based on the Fujimi kit, but did not have any intake trunking.

Thanks! The F-8 looks to be quite different from the Hasegawa kit, though, as it has a folded-wing option that the Hase kit doesn't.

At any rate, the three in the Revell set look really nice.
