MIG Mikkel
Hello all! First bulid, a Dominican P-38L. I'll use the 1/72 Academy kit and use some decals from the spare box. A little history: Not much is known about the FAD Lightning's but they maybe had P-38L, 4453100, 44-53031, 44-27085 and 43-51337. 4 F-5G, They were in use from March 1947 until October 1950. In 1948 an F-5 recon Lighting was sold to the FAN air force, only armed with two 12.7mm machineguns in the nose. In 1948 all the Lightning's that were still in service was flown to a unknown airbase (look at the photo with the line op of 3 P-38's and a P-51A + P-51D) It was two big nosed F-5G's and a single F-5E or P-38L-5. I'm building the last one, any of you guys that might have a serial number on the Black P-38L? or better photos (Pep, P-38 guy) Best regards, Mikkel Edited February 15, 2012 by MIG Mikkel

P-38 guy
Not sure if you know or not but they do make decals for that P-38. I have this plane in my list to do one day. http://www.ebay.com/itm/LF-Models-Decals-1-72-P-38L-LIGHTNING-Cuban-AF-FAEC-/400236480714?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5d2ff408ca Mike
MIG Mikkel
Thanks guys :) P-38 guy, th LF decals are, not very good but useable. I don't know if I bulid a all black Dominican or Nicaraguan P-38 instead of the rather boring Cuban NMF bird. Tomorrow the cockpit will be done Best regards, MIkkel
