I love Middle Eastern subjects and you've done a fine job on this MIG. It's too bad the Syrians are so uptight about people photographing their aircraft.

Of course, there's no way to know, but I can't help but wonder what types of aircraft the rebuilt, post-Baathist Syrian air force might be looking to aquire.

Let's hope the new regime won't be so paranoid about aviation enthusiasts and photographers - cross your fingers!

Excellent build and camo scheme.

I always thought the MiG-23 carried one radar and ir guided AA-7 missile?.

Hi!

Yes you are right the most common weapon config was the one IR and one Radar homing R-23/24 missile but it was for the ML and MLA/MLD version... the MF was the first exported version which could carry the R-23 missiles... and the regular config for them was the two R-23Rs radar guided and two or four R-60s for close combat/dogfight IR missiles. I studied the Warsaw Pact Mig-23s and they used this for QRA duty so I have decided to choose this for my bird, too.

Cheers, Polo
