Just imagine this sentence taken out of context! :whistle:/> ;)/>

We desperately need "Out of context sentences" thread. But i fear it would be quickly shut down for the lack of "family friendliness".

It's looking good for us Flankerists!

When the first pics of the Su-34 appear, I'll probably crap my pants.

These kits better be good then. I mean they gotta be perfect! No half-arse attemps a lá Trumpeter and ICM accepted anymore. These gotta freakin' ROCK!

You kids make me laugh...... :rolleyes:/>/>

I've been waiting nearly 30 years for a decent Flanker........ <_</>/>

.... ever since I made this Hungarian vacform kit in.... 1985!!!

flank_04.jpg

I've been banging on about it for many years - but it is still true......

There is, currently, not one single, accurate kit of a Sukhoi Flanker, in any scale :woot.gif:/>/>

Here's hoping that Zvezda can shut me up..... :whistle:/>/>

Going by Zvezda's recent track record, I'm fairly optimistic!

Late Summer 2013.

Could you please link to the source? Not that i don't believe you, just curious.

I notified Zvezda about the intake difference on the vertical stabs, maybe it will be fixed. (not that it is a big deal to start with)

Their forum, I can't give you specific page# (I can't recall whether it was in Introducing Su-27 or MiG-29 thread), but it was posted by their rep in late last year. Goes by Constantine K.

Kh-31's, niiice.

I sent information a while ago about the intake difference on the base of the vertical tails. Information was forwarded to main designer, we will see if it will be fixed or not.

So Zvezda it is then. I waited for the ICM kit, waited for the Trumpeter kit, never bought either one. This time they've got to nail it!

But that Heller UB somewhere in my stash I'll build one day. No matter how good new two-seaters they'll give us! :bandhead2:

looks nice!!! zvezda take your time and do it right!!!

Berkut any news about new Il-76 kit?

No news about Il-76. And they do take their time, they are almost one year behind the original release already. :)

Hear hear. I also have Heller UB (two even) in the stash... Chances of them being built are microscopical. :D

I can't answer any questions about the base and accessories - but it looks like the fin intakes are correct

Ken

Extra stuff seems to be included in the kit, which is very nice, although i hope it doesn't drive the price too much. Also hope they will release that and weapons separately.

And indeed they corrected they intakes. They, unlike HobbyTrump, are interested in making good kits.

PS: Did you notice anything "inaccurate" with that CAD Ken? ;) Hint: It is small.

I must admit I didn't look too closely - but I have done so now........

The only thing I can notice is the size of the hole in the mudguard - it looks too small in the CAD.

Is that it ????

Ken

PS - The two spine aerials make it an SM2/3 right ??

PPS - There doesn't seem to be much discussion about it on Zvezda's forum - are they saying anything on Scalemodels.ru ????

Yup. SM2 designation is sometimes used on aircraft signed under the second contract, but i don't think it is entirely correct. That antenna is for SM3 indeed, Su-35S have it as well. IMHO it is just SM and the twelve SM3's.

Scalemodels topic has been dead for a month.

Su-27 3D is apparently done, and we can expect new CAD pictures soon. New release date: "early fall". Lets hope this is the last schedule move.

Su-33 is also being worked on, yes, we can expect folded wings with all the details. As of now, CAD is too raw to be shown.

MiG-29 is also being worked on, there is expressed hope that it will be released right at the end of the year. In other words, don't expect it then. :rolleyes:/>
