dkobayashi
You mean the inside of the can? I find the best thing to use use Tamiya weathering powders, there's one with a "soot" color that looks really good.
Harrier/Viper Fan
The inside is no problem it's the exhaust pettles that are like a carbon fiber.
Supertom
Hi Harrier/Viper fan, What scale are you working with? If in 1/48, there's a company that makes carbon fiber decals that you can use to good effect. One sheet has enough to do a whole bunch of burner cans. The name of the company escapes me now but I'll post it once I remember, unless someone beats me to it. For 1/72, I'll suggest using Testor's Metalizer Dark Anodized Gray. Harrier/Viper Fan
Sorry forgot the scale which is 1/48.
Supertom
OK - I believe this is it - the decals are in 1/43, which might be close enough for your needs. http://store.scalemotorsport.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SM&Product_Code=1443&Category_Code=
Supertom
And here's an example: http://www.f-16.net/f-16_forum_viewtopic-t-10455.html
Harrier/Viper Fan
Thanks Supertom, I ordered some but for the time being i attempted to creat it with paint i will use the decals on my F-16F. I used Flat Black mixed with a little silver to give it that metal shiney effect. Hoping it came out right. But it looks ok to me but not having done a model in ages anything would look right to me lol.
Doughboy
Sorry for the late rply. The newer -229 Turkey feathers are made from some different Carbon Fiber than I've ever seen before. They are overall very flat and rough in texture. Here are some pics I took of one of the Thunderbirds nozzle. Bear in mind I was using a flash so in some pics they appear glossy. Trust me they are not! This is the same motor in the Su'fa. I'm building the Kinetic 1:48 kit and plan on painting them Black metallic then shooting them flat.
weirich1
Surprisingly, Testors Flat Rubber 1183 is a really good color match if painting them.
dmthamade
Building a Sufa, and painted the feathers Tamiya XF-84 Dark Iron. Pic below is close to color, not grainy in real. Don
