brewer
I usually build planes and I haven't built a car model since high school, so I thought I'd give one a shot to break my routine. I'm a huge follower of auto racing, mostly F1 and LeMans, and I always think, "man I'd love to drive one of those on the street" haha. So I took Tamiya's 1/24 "KURE" JGTC R33 Skyline and built it as a "street car". I'm no super-detailing scratch builder, but I did use some bits of aftermarket like a Tamiya PE set for the brake rotors, pedals, and grills, a Takata seat harness from Crazy Modeler, and some Volk CE28 wheels. I've built it using the same techniques as when I build planes. I don't like clean models, so this car has been "driven". The clear is satin and has more of a sheen in person than pics show, but it's far from showroom shiny obviously. Everything is weathered up, bottom of the front bumper is scraped up from bottoming out, etc. Let me know what you think! Bumper scraped up from bottoming out :P With the "track spares" And wingless "daily driver setup": "track day" setup for fun:
