Tony Lee
Howdy All Got a start on the L/70(V) camo yesterday and thought I would try out the Disc Stencil set offered by AKI. Laid down the tri colors first: Before calling it a day I had to make a test run: I hope to get the rest applied today. Cool product btw Thanks for looking and your comments Tony lee

IrishGreek
Tony, Nice paint and builds so far. Really enjoying it! Quick question though, is it you just haven't gotten to it yet, or is there another reason only some road wheels have the rubber pads? Thanks, John
Tony Lee
Morning John Those front road wheels are intentional. Models with the long barrel gun were nose heavy and waddled like a duck even going in a straight line and would rip the rubber tires right off the wheels. They redesigned the wheel with the rubber on the inside with a steel outer shell to manage the extra weight. They also trimmed the manlet some and moved the spare tracks to the rear to lighten up the front. "Now you know the rest of the story" Paul Harvey said that. Appreciate the compliment and the question John Tony lee
IrishGreek
Thanks. I just got one of the Dragon Expo jagdpanzer's and your build is really helpful. So is the info!

Ken from NJ
Tony, I love any "IV" variant, especially Jagdpanzer IV and StuG IV. But painting the rubber on the roadwheels drives me crazy. Any advice to make painting roadwheels more enjoyable if not easier? Excellent project you have going on here. Ken
Netz
As painful as it is to clean up road wheels it's much easier to paint them if you use a circle template, paint the black 1st then use the template to mask the wheel and spray your color. Curt
Tony Lee
Ken that's the way I do it just like Curt showed you. This way is a little slower than using one of those fancy wheel mask but it gets the job done. Get-r-Done Tony lee

Charlie Cheetah
Just noticed I used the wrong color green on my Jagdpanther, I had used Tamiya XF-61(dark green). I see your using XF-67 (Nato green), a much better match. Will have to use that on my future Panzers and Tigers. Edited April 24, 2012 by Charlie Cheetah
Tony Lee
Hey Charlie German green is an Olive Green and I like Nato Green because depending on what effect i'm after I can darken or lighten the Nato Green to suit me. Cheers Tony lee
