Sebastijan
Flankers don't need special introduction. Aiframe I've decided to build served with 941st GvIAP in the early '90s at Rogachevo AB on Novaya Zemlya (http://g.co/maps/s7x3e). Their task was defense of nuclear test sites and in case Cold war would turn hot, escort of Bears towards targets in the US. Model - it's a new Trumpeter 1:72 J-11B model. Because of certain differencies between the two I used the following aftermarket parts for converting and detailing. Neomega K-36 seat Eduard Zoom cockpit set Eduard Ladder ICM Russian weapons set. Linden Hill - Flankers on patrol decals Everything else is scratchbuilt or additionaly detailed by me. and on display base More photos and an article in one of the upcoming issues of Scale Aircraft Modelling
Flankerman
Stunning model Sebastijan :worship: Just the right amount of 'scruffiness' on the faded paintwork. And it shows that the Trumpeter J-11B/Flanker isn't that bad a kit. With some aftermarket plus a skilful modeller, a great model can be produced. Ken

janman
Man, that looks WAY bigger than 1/72! Awesome! Plain beautiful! The faded paintwork is just spot on (I just happened to watch some recent photos on Zacto's forum. See the Flanker there and compare it with Seb's work and you'll be convinced he has done a superb model!) This would really need some further information on the techniques used, but I guess we'll have wait until the mag comes out.
