Flankerman
The postman has just delivered a parcel - from Armory in the Ukraine. Lots of new submarine goodies that I had ordered..... Soviet Navy GPW S Class, Series IX/IX bis - S-51 (S1, S-13)- AMP Models Soviet Navy GPW SHCH-303 (SHCH Class, series III)- AMP models Soviet Navy GPW 'K' Class - K-21 - Micro Mir Models Russian Navy Project 705K - Alfa Class - Micro Mir models US Navy SSN-637 Sturgeon Class - Micro Mir models US Navy SSN-593 USS Thresher - Micro Mir models They all look to be well moulded, if a bit simplified. The kits include decals with etched-brass props and fittings. The AMP kits appear to be moulded by Eduard. I'll get back with a more comprehensive review when I get more time..... Flankerman
What is the cost in pounds/dollars Ken. All the subs were 7.10 Euros - apart from the SHCH - which was 7.50. Postage was free (I had a few other non-sub items as well). If you look at the Armory website, on the left-hand side there is a drop-down list of manufacturers - so select Micro-Mir. Then, on the right-hand side, you can select the currency. Selecting USD changes the amounts - and shows the Sturgeon to be 11.2USD Service from Armory was excellent - if a bit slow (I had to wait 'cos stuff was on back-order) - but they don't charge until they ship. Payment was via PayPal - they email when payment is due. I can't fault them - they even refunded me some postage. Ken
Flankerman
As promised, here are some photos of the kits...... Micro-Mir Alfa Class......... Note that the five etched-brass propeller blades have to be cemented to a plastic hub - should be fun MM Sturgeon Class... Interesting decal sheet MM Thresher.... MM Soviet K Class..... Note that this model appears to be mastered by the same guys who do the Amodel kits - note the 'Master 44' logo on the sprue. AMP S-Class..... Note that the etched-brass parts in this kit are done by Eduard. AMP SHCH Class..... Photos of the box art and parts of the instruction sheets are here - scroll down to the bottom Ken
