Nikonfan
I visited the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel Le Ferne near Folkestone today, and was fortunate to have excellent weather! As you enter, a quotation by Winston Churchill is facing you near the shop and cafe In the car park, a visually striking wall has been constructed - very nice until someone parks in front of it! Two replica aircraft are near the entrance Spitfire Hurricane The main feature of the site in some ways is the Memorial Wall - this features the names of all Royal Air Force and Allied aircrew who took part in the Battle of Britain The centre panel Overall, the site is designed that when viewed from the air, there is a three bladed propeller set into the ground in white brick with a statue of an airman sitting in the centre gazing into the skies over the English Channel towards France. This statue represents all ranks and flying grades. Since I last visited, a sculpture of Sir Keith Park has been added If anyone finds themselves in the area, I would recommend a visit! Sebastijan
nice pics! Like the wide angle shots! I had a more traditional British weather when I visited the memorial in 2010 http://vvsphotography.wordpress.com/2011/06/25/around-england-with-a-camera-bob-memorial/

SBARC
Great photos.....I plan to visit this mmeorial one day. On a side note....does the cafe serve Spitfire beer? That would be cool if they did......even cooler would be if they had some of the Spitfire beer advertising posters on display. :D
