10th Armored Division Sherman?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm typically an aircraft modeler, and would like to do a build for a friend who's grandfather was in the 10th Armored Division. Does anyone know if there is any way to make a 10th Armored Sherman? I think I'd like to take a stab at 1/35 as well.

Thanks,

Kyle

By far I am no expert when it comes to the Shermans or Army units, lots of variations.

I would recommend the Tamiya kit, something like this one. http://www.scalemates.com/products/product.php?id=103079

Without more information about what unit in the 10th he was in, unless of course it was HQ you would be looking to make markings as such

^ = triangle

6^3^A11

6^11^B21

6^21^C31

Would have to research more cause T/E changed during the war for the individual units you could have A,B,C,D, HQ and numbers could be 10's, 20's, 30's, 40's.

Best would be to have a photo and build to that.

Thank you both, this is what I was looking for. I'll look into getting the stencils, as it looks like no-one makes these as a set of decals for any 10th armored division tank. Would the markings you recommended Tank be located under "U.S.A." on the side armor?

Thanks,

Kyle

No, these would located in the front and rear of the tank.

Examples for the 13th Tank Batt, 1st AD.

I would recommend this set for numbers and symbols. Just cut out what you need. http://www.archertransfers.com/AR35065W.html

Here are some videos to help with adding them. http://www.archertransfers.com/PAGE_Instructions.html

Again if you can find a photo, I would build to that as these are just guidelines.
