The thing that tripped me on the ARC Armor homepage, is that this past Friday and Saturday we had a local quilting show, and guess who won best of show... a man.

While I didn't attend this year to my disappointment, my wife is into quilting and I really do enjoy those shows, both for the creativity and artwork, but also for the potential modelling tools which may be found. My favorite quilt this year, which my wife has photographs of and I will try to post later, was of a quilting pattern featuring Soviet-era propaganda motifs in the requisite red, yellow, black, and gray shades we've come so fondly to love in our nostalgia for "the good ol' days". It really inspired me to rise up against the bourgeoisie with the proletariat, form a commune, and start informing on my neighbors so they could enjoy the proper socialist education in a labor camp. :smiley-transport023:

Be very glad you didn't show her the Armor home page, or it would have been out with the plastic and in with the wool... :D.

Maybe you could've started knitting airplane models. With nylon aftermarket stuff for the finer details. I think they'd see you coming in the wool shop, looking for wool in SEA camouflage colours.

Wool / haberdashery stores are part of my 'approved supplier' list! Elastic thread (AKA 'knicker elastic') for hydraulic lines & invisible (guess what -it isn't) repair thread for antennae on early subjects. Also known to buy the odd pack of small sequins for light reflectors. There is a lot to be said for the knitted aircraft, though: if a plastic project goes off the rails, you ain't gonna be able to make a scarf outa that!

It never ceases to amaze me how many rookies, noobs, and seldom sams who are unaware of the shenanigans those in power :woot.gif::whistle: are capable of pulling on a certain day in April. I remember the one where it showed a Raptor in the hands of Mainland China, handed them by a defector....TBH that one had me going for a bit.
