TheFlyingDutchman
Hello, I finished another airliner. It's the excellent Revell 1:144th scale A320 with Thomas Cook/Swiss Air Lines decals. I believe this was the first release of the new A320 mould? Or was it the Condor one? In December 2010 I flew Amsterdam-Zurich-Malaga-Zurich-Amsterdam with Swiss and Edelweiss A320's. In this trip I flew on HB-IJX twice. I used the excellent kit decals with some addition: -home printed registration numbers -home printed name on nose on LH side ('Davos') -Star Alliance logos from the spares box -yellow/black striped warning markings at the cargo doors from the spares box I opted to keep all windows transparent, that is how I prefer them. greets, Jelle
Big Kev
That is gorgeous! A really fantastic build. Do I detect some subtle panel highlighting here and there? If so, how did you do it? Kev
dimsh2000
Your A320 turned out fantastic, Jelle! Where did you get the tug from?
TheFlyingDutchman
Thanks both! I applied a 'sludge wash' on some panel lines like those for the flight controls, the wheel doors and the thrust reversers. A sludge wash is nothing more than a mixture of black/grey water based paint from the toy store (the cheapest I could find), some water and a little drop of detergent to break the surface tension of the wash. Let the wash flow through the panel lines, let it dry for a few minutes and remove the surplus of wash with a damp tissue. If you don't like the result you can just wash it off with water, even after it dried completely. It is fixed only when you have clear coated the model. The towbarless push back truck is from http://apronworld.webs.com/ but as this is ran by one person his products have a very limited quantity so it is quite hard to get one. greets, Jelle
