Supertom
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone makes a decal sheet for this particular bird pictured on Airliners.net: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/Boeing-KC-135R-Stratotanker/2026802/&sid=163a74268028724ca5c86d4080b97dc0
ThePhantomTwo
Doesn't look like it Tom,that looks to be a newer scheme they applied. If you can get good pics of the markings of any of their aircraft, your best bet is to pass them along to Mark at Wolfpak Decals or Mike Egan with Draw Decal,I think those two companies are the best bet to ever see a Scott AFB/Illinois ANG KC-135 on decal. Jennings
I keep pressing the idea of new KC-135 decals, and keep getting shot down because of lack of potential sales.
Supertom
Thanks guys. I was thinking Wolkpak or Draw Decals might have been the best bet, since Wolkpak does the variety sheet that I'm quite a fan of. Jennings, yeah it's too bad, huh?

KursadA
I keep pressing the idea of new KC-135 decals, and keep getting shot down because of lack of potential sales. A 1/72 KC-135 sheet would sell and be profitable. I would have done it in a heartbeat if I had the time to sit down and do it; but my schedule for the rest of the year is packed. Mark S.
Gents: I'll throw it on the list. Need however a better picture of the tail. Mark Wolfpak Decals

Especially so with ANG schemes. Historically ANG decals sell for doo-doo. Ask Bare Metal. That's why he stopped doing decals. The six people in the relevant state buy them, and nobody else. I don't need to ask anyone; I would have done it. I was very satisfied with the sales of my ANG F-100 sheet(it's sold out); and I have other ANG sheets in the pipeline as well. Unless the subject is truly, and truly obscure; I don't think anyone can accurately estimate whether a subject will sell or not. Edited May 6, 2012 by KursadA
Jay Chladek
I remember when Three Guys decals did their KC-135 sheet with a SAC bird, the NASA vomit comet and one of the 9th SRW's KC-135Q models on the sheet and years later, they STILL had some examples left for sale. People do still seek out my club's 1994 IPMS Nationals decal sheet with the Nebraska ANG, EC-135 and RC-135 markings periodically, but they aren't exactly trying to bang down the doors for them. In my case, I only tend to hear of somebody on ARC looking for those sheets maybe once every two years or so (and no, I don't have any for sale and the last of the sheets we did have are gone now last time I checked). Now, if Minicraft were to somehow turn the KC-135 in 1/144 they annouced into something that is not vaporware (and at this rate I doubt we will even see it ever since it has been almost four years since it was "announced"), then perhaps we might see an interest for more decals of 135 schemes because more modelers could afford to build a 1/144 kit since it takes up less space in their stashes and when the models are built. Supertom
You're my hero, Jake! I was just about to go look for more pics of that bird!
mig23
What we really really need is a set of stencils/rescue markings and walkways for the whole C-135 family over it's entire life span. Jennings, your C-97 decal sheet should set the standard for a good -135 sheet. Haydn.
KursadA
Here is a better photo of the tail: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29373480@N06/5793314115/sizes/l/in/photostream/
Jennings
Are people wanting current day stuff, or ANG KC-135s in general? The full color, gloss grey days of KC-135As and Es in the 1980s are something I'm interested in. Oddly, finding decent photos of current day stuff is problematic in many cases. People tend to take pics of just the tail or just the nose art, but rarely the whole airplane.
Jennings
How's this look? Better pics would be better... Edit: Hit refresh and see if this looks better. Thanks Kursad :) Edited May 8, 2012 by Jennings

Jennings
What the-? How the heck did you do that so fast?! Or is it some Ancient Jennings Secret? Years and years of patient practice ;) I'd love to do this if I can get better pics. Any nose art on the Illinois birds? Also looking for a close up of the Briggs & Stratton logo on the nose of 57-1514 of the Wisconsin ANG. There are a couple of shots on airliners.net, but they're all skewed and too fuzzy.
