arc01
I got the elusive full Type XXI kit form ebay the other day: I haven't been able to find references for the bottom vents, I don't know if they have the protective screens. I don't know if these were present on the Type XXI or did they put them later, like those on the "Wilhelm Bauer" museum sub in Germany, which has netting on every opening, against bird nests I presume. Any help? P.S. I noticed my headline is a little dyslexic, it should read "2518" not "2581" but I can't edit the title. Edited May 31, 2012 by arc01
arc01
In search of the grill mystery I answered my own question, yes they had those grills. Note the B+W picture on the lower right corner. This guy from CZ, vacuformed the XXI in 1/72 scale and made it operational. Made his own photoetched parts, simply amazing. Check it out here.
