WoW !! Really nice !!

I have this kit with all kinds of resin and PE and always thought about cutting the turtleback open. You have done an excellent job. I'm going to save your build for the year or two from now when I get around to mine.

Thanx for sharing !!!!

Good evening guys, tough month at work but i tried to ''steal'' some time for modelling!! I continued with building some details at the back ''office'', a ramp for the upper radios as the aircraft i am building was a -4E one as well as the 2 small devices for this place, one radio and one radar scope for the APS-4 radar. At the same time i made 4 small bases for the lower raw of the radios. Finally i sprayed some Mr Surfacer 1200 and some color...

The beginning...

Looks great. One possible suggestion - if that's a fire extinguisher, the discharge nozzle should be shiny black vrs the green color of the housing itself. Regardless, your work is outstanding, look forward to seeing everything buttoned up.

John, Chuck thanks guys.

John, it is an oxygen bottle i think they were painted willow green (???).

My pics shucks, in real life colors and weathering is much more in balance!!!

Almost forgot it, Peter there is another raw of radios so when i put them over the existing ones, nothing is going to be visible. That is why i did not put any wires behind. Now around them, i dont have a decent photo to show the details, the only one i have from D&S shows the lower raw totally empty, so i cannot make any clue how they would show. That is why i chose to leave as it is.

Good evening guys, i am slow but steady. A little update, i managed to close the fuselage and i was pretty happy with the fit of the 2 halves. I used CA to fill the gaps and for sanding as well as superfine milliput. You can also see the amazing canopy trails from part!! like the true ones only in 1/48 scale.

P1070480.jpg

I also glued in place the rear wheel. If you remember i shortened it because the kit depict it to in flight condition. Here also milliput was used and because i sanded down all the rivets i replaced them with Archer ones.

I used part details PE to replicate the two flaps from where the air from the oil cooler was exited. Pretty amazing detail!!!

I continued with the upper raw of the avionics boxes. I have to remind you that i am building a -4Ε model which carried the AN/APS-4 RADAR POD so i had to make the small radar screen for the rear pilot. I have also build a telegraph key, it seems good, dont you think?

Good morning guys and HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.

New year has come so i thought to post something new myself also. So a little progress with the ''beast''!!!

I placed inside the fuselage the gunners seat and machine gun tower in a way that it can move up and down

P1070684_zpsedec2e0c.jpg

P1070683_zpsc1e3ba61.jpg

Following that i made the life-raft and its tube. Here i combined the eduard PE for the tube, the excellent PE from part for the mechanism and alunimium tape for the raft.

Unpainted...
