Replacement 737 engines

Recommended Posts

Does anyone make replacement aftermarket engines for the 737-300/400/500? I hava a Welsh 737-400 which is very nice, but the engines are bit undetailed compared to the Daco and even Minicraft engines, so I'd like to source some replacements.

Thanks!

Robert

I do not believe aftermarket CFM56 engines exist, both in 1:72 and 1:144 scales.

I think I remember Flight Path of New Zealand released 737 "Classic" kits and that they also marketed the engines separately. But then, this was in 1:200 scale.

The Revell B737-800 engines are closer to the engines on the 300/400/500 than to a correct NG engine. If you replace them with the Contrails NG engines, you can use the Revell engines on the Welsh kit.

Best wishes,

Grant

Sorry, but what? The NG engines clearly have a longer shape than the Classic's. The Revell engines might not be very accurate (badly shaped intake and nacelle pointing upwards) but it does have the proper length..
