Some B-737-200 Questions

Recommended Posts

Hi

1)Just wodering if there are decals to simulate lights on the wings right near the fusulage? And what is the correct placement?

2)What is the size and placement of the Red and Green Lights at the end of each of the main wings?

3)On some of the 737;s there is a red light afew feet in front of the antena, How do you make this?

4)Has anyone built the Airfix B-737-200 with the Cockpit Windows supplied by the kit? If so how did you get it to fit. I was able to manipulate it when I had a piece of sprue still attached to the window. If I cut the spue off after instalation, I may knock the window out or damage the rest of the aircraft. Without the sprue the Windows tended to go inward at the ends. :woot.gif:

Any help appreciated and thanks in advance.

Stephen

Stephen, yes there are decals for landing and runway turnoff lights of a B737 - that's what those lights are named. For references on how to place those decals, you should check sites such as airliners.net or jetphotos and do a search on the subject, you'll find lots of good pics with those.

Depending on the model and scale, I sometimes use small parts of sprue to make anticollision lights (those on top and bottom of the fuselage).

Do not remove the sprue after installing the cockpit clear parts, as chances are you might damage it. If you want those parts to look clear, you may have to use white glue on it, let it dry for a couple of days and then use a very light grit wet sandpaper to clean it.

Yet, I'm not very familiar with this technique. I usually place decals for windshields.

Regards

Eduardo

You can't. And even if you could, the result would be wildly inaccurate in contour. And you're still missing the eyebrow windows.

The wing tip nav lights were small, colored ball-shaped lenses under a clear cover. Here is an excellent walk around so you can see them, along with a good shot of the landing/runway turnoff lights.

Trying to get a piece of brittle, ill-fitting clear plastic into a mismatched cockpit opening usually ends with a lot of swearing for me. I just install it as best I can, fill & sand, paint over it, then use decals for the windows.
