ads
Hey cats - the first sprue shots of the KittyHawk F-35b in 1/48th are out - it looks like there is a full engine in there and some positionable flight surfaces there! I would like to have one in my hands to examine it further.. Wishful thinking! any F-35 experts out here?
Crazy Snap Captain
Looks really nice. Never built a Kitty Hawk model before (never heard of the brand to be honest with you). How well do they go together?
hacker
too bad the 1/72 versions were not this detailed and a 1/32 with this much detail would sell too. I too would be interested to see this bird build
dmk0210
Looks really nice. Never built a Kitty Hawk model before (never heard of the brand to be honest with you). How well do they go together? This is only their second model kit. The F-94C was their first, released earlier this year IIRC. I haven't seen any of those built up yet. Both kits look good on the sprues for sure, and Kitty Hawk is at least releasing kits we don't have available. I'll buy one of these when it comes out. I'm glad to see they aren't pumping out yet another ME-109 or P-51 like some of the other kit makers have been doing lately. Pretty much all the WWII fighters have been done to death. We need some more cold war fighters and bombers on the market. Edited July 24, 2012 by dmk0210
loftycomfort
I'm one of the few people that find the F-35's pudgy profile attractive. So I might pick up this kit as a closed-canopy sanity build. Terry
Bigasshammm
Looks nice. I might pick one up if I can find a good deal. Or if my LHS ever has one on clearance. They had some of the 94s there last time I was there. Also a nice looking kit.
fulcrum1
I'm going to have to buy both kits. Gotta love a start up that's making stuff never done before.

wh1skea
All I have to say is....SEXY! Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg when it finally hits the public. Really can't wait for an F-35C, though.

Litvyak
Interesting that the decal sheet has hinomarus and South Korean roundels, too. I wonder what all the full-colour roundels are for, though... Looks pretty good though, so far. Now for an A... ;)

RedHeadKevin
Does this kit have the same "Stealth Armor" as the Hasegawa Raptor? The surface doesn't look smooth. That could just be me though. Also, this is going to have a weapons bay, right? They're just not showing any weapon-bay sprues or the bottom half of the airplane?

boom175
Are there F-35B's marked up as USAF-birds? I thought they were USMC and RN only? It's a joint training unit with Marines at Eglin AFB
