Przemyslaw Szymczyk
Hello My first post here :) I'm mostly afv and figure modeller, but recently I wanted to make something different. So, here it is - plane building topis from person that have no idea how to biuld planes :) I have eduard's 1/48 Bf109 E-1 profi-pack and aber's gun barrels. Since I didn't like the markings found in the box, I picked up the 30th issue of Kagero MiniTopcolors series entitled 'Luftwaffe's Baptism of Fire' immediatelly after noting the green Emil with running fox on the engine cowl on the cover (this fox is looking alike my own dog :)) The booklet includes great colour profiles of 8 planes (3xBf 109 E-1, 1xBf 109 E-3, 1xBf 109 D-1, 1xBf 110 C-2, 1xJu 87 B-1 and 1xHe 111 P-2) and 2 decal sheets with their markings in 3 scales (except the He 111 P, which is in 1:72 & 1:32 only). In most cases these are only individual markings, but there are also national markings for 2 machines from Legion Condor and swastikas for the He 111. Decals were done by Cartograf, so I shouldn't have any problems with them. But now, see some progress on the kit ;) decals chosed painting scheme And here's todays progress: Cockpit: Engine: And all together: I still forgetting to glue rudder pedals on :) Best regards! Shawn C.
Yes, the detail painting looks great. I like the kit markings but the Kagero book options look great also.
Anders_Isaksson
Very, very nice painting. You really made the various details come to life.

SwissHornet
Cockpit is RLM 66?
Aggressor01
Cockpit is RLM 66? I'm pretty sure that's what it calls for. That's what my trumpeter kit calls for. I don't know how you can spot that color like that. It's all gray to me. Good eyes.
ThatJeffGuy
I'm pretty sure that's what it calls for. That's what my trumpeter kit calls for. I don't know how you can spot that color like that. It's all gray to me. Good eyes. Colour call-outs can be wrong :) The problem is an early 109 would have probably been RLM02 (green grey primer)...there was a switch made after the Battle of Britain to RLM66. Your kit instructions could be right for the period or plane the markings represent....but if you go way back to the beginnings of the Luftwaffe which your upper camo choice shows....it's a pretty good bet that it would have been RLM02 But it's your model and you're doing an outstanding job so far EDIT...sorry I thought I was quoting the OP.
