Hasegawa F/A-18 E

Recommended Posts

Hi there guys.

I've been looking around the web for pic's of the Hase F/A-18E part frets to see if it will be possible to build a F dual seat OOB but couldn't see pictures with enough detail or reviews mentioning it....so I'm asking the experts on the forum?

Yeah or nay?

They have an F/A-18F kit, why not pick that up?

Aaron

Thanks again guys.

Aaron, I can get an E for cheap-cheap and wanted to check before I get the thing. So in theory OOB is out of the question, but if you go down the aftermarket path then it is possible - pit and canopy? Which will, in this instance, still be cheaper than a full priced F.

Most AM cockpit set do not include the canopy (none that I am aware). I would recommend buying the E, then trying to swap parts with someone looking to do a E. You would only have to trade 2 of the smaller sprues. I have done this many times with the C/D or A/B. The other option would be to try to get replacement sprues from Hasegawa.

BTW, any leads you would like to share as to where to get these cheap cheap Hasegawa F-18E's? :D

Nothing special guys - eBay UK. But here in the UK we do not pay the exchange rate equivalent of Hase kits to the US dollar we pay the direct amount to what you pay in Canada and the US i.e. $60-100 US unfortunately equates to £60-100 which equates to $90 to $156.....that's a royal shaft up the you know what. <_<

You can order the sprues from Hasegawa USA. Ask them for sprues "F" and "Q" from kit PT38 and I believe that will get you all the parts you need to build the -F version. I think it will cost you $10. They usually ship the sprues in a few weeks.

Thanks for the helpful info. I might just go down that route if someone is building an "E" with and "F" kit, otherwise I'll just order the sprues from Hasegawa.
