Paddington
Hello folks! Currently i'm working on this project. The repainting of my viper has to wait until the decals arrive. So, i'm going with this: As addition to the Eagle, i bought the aires cockpit set and the aires nozzles. I'm thinking about a Spangdahlem or Bitburg Eagle.
Paddington
I had to wait until the aires parts arrived, in the meantime, i put the fuselage together. Everthing's filled, sanded and engraved. The ALQ-119 antenna as additional part in the box ailerons down
Paddington
Added a little detail to the front wheel bay. These are parts of an old eduart set. Just for my mind, you don't see much of this later. Then i had to cut out the IP cover. Still needs a little finder sanding. The cockpit set arrived, i began with a coat of light grey primer. Some masking After removing the mask Boxes of bay 5, bay 5 itself and the aces seat primed in black. I planed to paint bay 5 in white. Thats all for now. geedubelyer
Hello Patrick, this looks like it will be an interesting project. The resin additions look sharp but you might wish to check the throttles in the cockpit. It might be my imagination but they appear to be facing the wrong way  I think the smooth face should face rearward leaving the buttons and switches to the front......? (This is an "-E" but the throttle orientation is similar on the "-C" .) I'll follow along to see what scheme you eventually choose. Cheers. Paddington
As i took it out of the box, the throttle handle was broken off. But you are right ! Thank you. Anyway, i spent the last few hours to paint bay 5 and parts of the pit. Even the seat. But it's not finished yet. Have to do it better. This doesn't please me. That's the result so far. Cheers, Patrick
Paddington
worked on the cockpit today Cheers
Paddington
Forward half and fuselage are glued and the critical joints haven been sanded as well. Patrick
Paddington
My F-15 is now primed with tamiya grey. There is still some room for improvement. Some scratches that haven't seen before priming and that have to be fixed. But just minor things. I'm pleased so far. And the most annoying parts on this kit. Depending on how you hold the aircraft, you always see some steps on it. For me it's hard to fix. Had this trouble on every Hasegawa F-15. Ok, now some more filling and sanding. Cheers
mikejapan
I'm also working on a 1/48 F-15 from Hasegawa. I'll keep a close eye on this one. Good build so far! Michael
bikerider
I just started mine too. Will be watching as well.
Paddington
Beside removing some scratches on the surface, i worked on the fuel tanks. First, a view on the tanks, compared with a tamiya tank. The hasegawa tanks show some gaps i've never seen before on eagle tanks. Are they right?? I decided to fill the hasegawa tanks. Here filled, sanded and preshaded. .....and painted. Cheers, Patrick
Benner
look'n good! :) ... for decals, I suggest the Bitburg DS ones ;) though you might need the newer missile rails for that.
JamesHavoc
Hello, looking excellent! I'll be watching this build with interest. A question for you, How did you find the fitment of the aires cockpit set into the body? I maybe looking to order this set with aires cockpit you see.
Paddington
Hi! Thanks for the comment. The fitting is ok, some sanding and tryfitting here and there not much. Had no major problems with the aires pit. Patrick
Paddington
It's been a long time since the last post here, because of four projects on my desk. So, in the meantime i did some progress. All the sanding work is done and the eagle is preshaded with exception of the hot metal area. This will be done later. one of the other projects :-) but without WIP. cheers, Patrick
Paddington
Hey guys.. it's been a while since the last update. Doesn't had much time in the past. I moved into a new house, so building up a new man cave took some time But now it's all done and i can concentrate on finishing my projects. I began with my Eifel Eagle. After preshading i found the time to do the major paintwork except the hot metal area. Let's take a look. The paint is done by freehand. I used gunze colours H307 and H308. Feel free to criticize.
