1/32 Trumpeter F-14D Super Tomcat

Recommended Posts

Hi Tomas. Yes, it appears the extra support pieces are only on the left side. Larger photos of the exchangers are included in my In-progress F-14B build. Please see Post #181

If you need additional references for your build, have a look at my in-progress build. I've included an index to what has been done to date for ease of reference - link to Table Of Contents.

Hopefully I'll have this build completed in the near future (fingers crossed).

John

John, thank you very much for the info and link to your in-progress build. It is very helpful.

very impressive job !!

Pat

Thank you Pat.

So today I added details to the left heat exchanger according to reference from John. I have also finished the louvers on the left side. Here are some pictures of my progress:

Tomorrow when the glue dryies properly I will sand the louvers to have more sharp edges.

That's it for today. Thanks for watching.

Cheers,

Tomas

Looking great Tomas.

Excellent!!!

:jaw-dropping:

just plain awesome :worship:

Wow Tomas, really fine and detailed work. You are a master of styrene, no doubt about it.

To add to John's observations on the heat exchanger vents, here's a pic of "Christine" that shows the same thing:

John, rom, youngtiger, Chuck, thank you all for nice comments.

I have some progress on the Tomcat. First I had to remove increased edge for the stiffeners (not sure thats the name for the four 'things' on the upper fuselage). Again something what is not really correct on this kit.

I finished the new lines and rivets on the front part of upper fuselage as I was showing few posts back.

For the walkways I used same technique as I used for my Merkava's anti-slip surface (see http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?showtopic=279409), hairspray and embossing powder. In case of walkways I did it litle bit more dense.

That's it for now. Tomorrow I will (hopefully) prime this part with Mr. Surfacer to see whether there aren't left some unwanted scratches etc. Thanks for watching.

Cheers,

Tomas
