Sometime in the mid-80's the USN / AF switched from white AAM's to grey ones. For a bit, it was not uncommon to see both colors on an aircraft. Not sure if older missiles were re-painted during overhauls or if they just switched at the factory and all new production missiles were painted grey. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
