Neo
hi Guys Time to get this started. I will be building a 1/48 ROG F-5E accompagnied by a BlackBlox Pit Aigore (Janne) has made this build possible by generously donating a partial HI-Decal 48016 tha will allow me to represent 3-7301 (with an eagle on its tail) I have started removing casting blocks from the pit. Pics to come soon. One question i have is what color should the pit be on this bird Cheers Neo

Sebastijan
I don't recall seeing Iranian F-5E cockpit photos, but I don't see any reason why it should be painted any different.

Diego
It will be surely a very interesting build It is worth noting that IIAF/IRIAF F-5Es were equipped with MB MK.7(IRQ7A) ejection seat, similar to the one used on the F-104G: http://www.seatejectcolor.com/seat/sedili/ditte/martin%20baker/gq7/gq7a.htm# The AIRES N° 4111 resin seat can be used here. Iranian F-5As were also equipped, already before the revolution, with MB Mk.10 seats. Also please note that, using the HDL sheet, you can also make an F-5E with a tigerhead on the tail. To do this, you will need to take the codes for Azarakhsh 3-7361 (decals 40,41,42)and switch the digits to obtain the code 3-7316 Greetings Diego Edited September 6, 2012 by Diego

Sebastijan
Interesting information. I wasn't aware of the seat; luckily it's not too late to make a switch yet. Neo - you'll find good walkarounds including cockpit here: http://www.primeportal.net/the_airstrip.htm

Neo
Thanks guys here a little update shoul be much faster now that the pit is done. fuse is in one piece. i took care of the Trenches with my favorite trick... 1-Tape aroun the gap tightly 2-apply slightly diluted putty and let dry 3-remove tape 4- take Acetone base nail polish remover and some Q-Tips 5- rub gently This has lots of advantages.. For raised panel lines kits i mean you wont sand away your detail Its musch faster that sanding and dosent make a mess Enjoy the pics Neo Edit Image shack seams to have trouble this morning Edited November 3, 2012 by Neo
TaiidanTomcat
That is much nicer than the messes I create filling and sanding
Neo
Tonight on Trench warfare..... used my fav technique not to loose the raised details(and yeah im too lazy to sand) tape it up apply thinned putty Remove tape and let dry +- 1 hour Rubb with acetone base nail polish remover and some Qtips TADA ill have to touch up 1 or to minor bugs but this is how i do trench warfare on these buggers
TaiidanTomcat
Trench warfare is a great phrase!! good work
