Need aftermarket NASCAR decals

Recommended Posts

Hey Y'all :P , I dont normally build NASCAR kits but I've been given a kit by an old friend, a '97 (I think) Revell Cartoon Network Chevy Monte Carlo. The kit itself looks pretty nice but the decal sheet looks terrible, not that I was ever a fan of the Cartoon Network cars. Where would be a good place to look for some other decals for a '97 Monte Carlo?

Thanks in advance!:beer4:

I think Slixx dropped allot of the NASCAR line due to the difficulty to get copy rights, but they did make allot of them in the past, you might just try a search for 2nd hand sheets or old stock carried by another distributor/local hobby shops/kit collector shows/contests, a cold search is at hand.

I kinda like the Cartoon cars and Slixx did do a number of then, a have a couple (not for sale)

Agree that Mike's site is the best for a/m NASCAR decals... just got off his site after over an hour just looking for 97/98 season decals for the same thing... still cannot make-my-mind up but the Bell South/Joe Nemecek sheets are glorious !!

Charlie,

Slixx discontinued their NASCAR decals several years ago. As Ian said above, Mikes is going to be your best choice for aftermarket and out of production NASCAR decals. The best way to search Mikes website is by driver. By and large the drivers that are driving Chevrolets now were driving Chevrolets then. To be honest with you, the #4 Kodak Chevrolet driven by Sterling Marlin from 1994 to 1997 was one of the best looking Chevrolet during that era. That wheatland yellow with those red numbers are nice. Your kit is a non-"slab sided" kit so any Chevrolet for seasons '94 to early '97 would be accurate. Look through Mikes website and if you see something there that you like, let me know. I have a vast majority of the decals from that era. HTH!

Best Regards,

Ken Bailey

Yeah, I agree with ya bout Marlin's 44 Kodak car, I was lookign at it yesterday and its on my short list, as is Ricky Craven's 1995 #2 Dupont car. Just about all of Earnhart's cars from that era seem to be slab sides so those are out. Gonna go look at a few more and Ill pm you. Thanks again Ken!
